Three years after China, sunvozertinib reaches US pharmacies

AstraZeneca has begun US sales of Zegfrovy (sunvozertinib) — the China-developed lung-cancer drug at the center of the Washington Post's report on Americans flying to Shanghai for treatment. The timeline is the story: approved in China in August 2023, approved by the FDA in July 2025, on US shelves on October 22, 2026. Patients who couldn't wait out a three-year gap went to China — and for many other treatments, that gap is still open. We help you use it safely: free case review, named hospitals, transparent prices.

Our take: the time gap and the price gap →

The JadeBridgeCare view

Why patients are crossing the Pacific — the time gap, and the price gap

When The Washington Post reported in October 2026 that American cancer patients were flying to Shanghai for a China-developed drug their own doctors couldn't yet give them, it confirmed what we see every week: for a growing list of treatments, the question is no longer whether China can help — it's how fast, and at what price. Two gaps explain it.

01

The approval gap

Sunvozertinib, a targeted lung-cancer pill developed in China, was approved in China in August 2023. The FDA approved it in July 2025 — yet it only went on sale in the US in October 2026. For more than three years, the only way to get it was to go to China, and at least 30 American families did exactly that (Washington Post / KFF Health News). Approval calendars differ by country. Disease doesn't wait for them.

02

The trial gap

China's share of the world's early-stage drug development rose from 8% in 2015 to 32% in 2024 (JAMA). In fields like CAR-T and cell therapy, trials open in China earlier and enroll faster. For advanced cancer, an earlier trial can be the treatment.

03

The waiting gap

In the US, a specialist consultation, a scan, or a surgery date can take months. Through our hospital network across China, case review, appointments and procedures are scheduled in days to weeks — with your records reviewed by Chinese physicians before you ever board a plane, free of charge.

04

The price gap

The same standards of care, at a fraction of US self-pay prices. A dental implant with crown from about $700–1,800 in China versus $3,000–5,000+ in the US; CAR-T cell therapy programs in China at a fraction of the $400,000+ US list price. Every figure we publish is a reference range, and your case is quoted in writing before you travel.

The families in that news story did it alone — suitcases, guesswork, and risk. JadeBridgeCare turns the same journey into a managed one: free case evaluation, named hospitals, transparent prices, private-car transfers, an interpreter at your side, and follow-up after you fly home. The gaps are real. We help you use them — safely.

The journey model

Treat at the top. Recover somewhere beautiful.

Your procedure is done at one of China's best hospitals. Then, instead of recovering in a hotel room, you move to a city made for it — the Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an, the Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang, pandas in Chengdu, the island air of Hainan — with medical follow-up throughout. Treatment, transfers, recovery stay and touring are all inside your one price.

  • Surgery and treatment at a top-tier hospital
  • Recovery in a scenic, historic city — touring built in, follow-up included
  • One all-inclusive price, written into your contract before departure

JadeBridgeCare is a medical-travel coordinator. We arrange access and coordinate your care at these hospitals; medical care itself is provided by the hospitals' licensed physicians.

Why JadeBridgeCare

China has thousands of hospitals. We know which door to knock on.

China's medical system is vast — thousands of hospitals, and in every specialty, hundreds of department directors with impressive titles. A title, however, is not a result. Knowing who is genuinely authoritative in one narrow field — who the other doctors would send their own family to — takes years inside the system.

That is what our team brings: years of experience in medicine and in patient services, and a working map of who does what best, where. Send us your case and we match it to the hospital and doctor team that leads in your specific condition — not the most famous name, the right one.

And once you're there, you're never on your own.

Private driver

A private driver for every transfer — airport pickup in a private business car, and every hospital trip.

Appointment companion

A companion who stays with you through registration, consultations and procedures.

Medical interpreter

A medical interpreter who speaks both languages — and both medical systems. So nothing about your care is lost in translation, in traffic, or in a hospital corridor.

Cancer treatment · Special feature

CAR-T: the price gap at its widest

In the US, approved CAR-T cell therapies list at roughly $373,000–$475,000 for the cell product alone — and the full treatment episode commonly runs far higher. In China, commercial CAR-T therapies have been reported in the ~$60,000–170,000 range. And there is a third number: $0 — through a clinical trial, if your case qualifies.

$373K–$475K

United States — published list price for the CAR-T cell product alone; full episodes commonly run far higher.

~$60K–$170K

China — commercial CAR-T therapies, reference range. Your written quote comes before travel.

$0

Through a clinical trial, if your case qualifies — the trial sponsor pays for the therapy.

Three doors to treatment in China — we help you find the right one

Every cancer case we evaluate is screened against all three doors.

Door 1

One-price treatment

Standard care at a top hospital, one all-inclusive price in your contract (see our Five Commitments).

Door 2

A clinical trial — the therapy can be free

Many of our biotech partners run clinical trials in China and the US, including next-generation programs such as universal (allogeneic, "off-the-shelf") CAR-T and other advanced therapies not yet on the market. If you enroll, the trial sponsor pays for the therapy. We screen your case against open trials and handle the coordination — enrollment is decided by the trial's medical team, never by us, and is never guaranteed.

Door 3

Built for limited budgets

If the standard route is beyond your budget, tell us. Our job is to find the best solution your situation allows — a lower-tier hospital with the same specialists' standards, a trial opening, a staged plan. Having less money should not mean having no options.

Transparent pricing

Reference prices: United States vs. China

Published reference ranges to help you plan. They are not a quote — your case is evaluated individually, and your one all-inclusive price is confirmed in writing before you travel.

Our five commitments

What we put in writing

1

Decided before you depart

Before you fly, Chinese specialists review your full case and confirm — in writing — whether the treatment can be done, what exactly will be done, and where. You board the plane knowing the plan. No surprises on arrival, no wasted trip.

2

One price, in the contract

One all-inclusive price covering treatment, hospital care, transfers, your recovery stay and the touring built into it — written into your contract before departure. The price we sign is the price you pay.

3

Care continues after you come home

Your follow-up doesn't end at the airport: US physicians continue your care and advise you after you return, coordinated with your Chinese treatment team and your complete records.

4

Questions we hear first

Is JadeBridgeCare a medical provider?

No. JadeBridgeCare is a medical-travel facilitator and coordinator, operated by New Beginnings AI Technology LLC. Medical care is provided by licensed hospitals and physicians in China, following their own case review. We coordinate, translate, schedule and accompany — we do not provide treatment and we never promise treatment outcomes.

If I join a clinical trial, is everything free?

The investigational therapy — and care covered by the trial protocol — is paid by the trial sponsor. Travel, lodging outside the protocol, and non-protocol care may still be your cost. Enrollment is decided by the trial's medical team under its protocol; it is never guaranteed, and universal CAR-T remains investigational — it exists in clinical trials, not as an available product.

Are the prices on this site a quote?

No. Published figures are reference ranges, subject to case evaluation. Your case is quoted in writing — one all-inclusive price in your contract — before you travel.

How fast will I hear back?

We reply to inquiry-form submissions by email within 24 hours. For a faster conversation, message us on WhatsApp at +1 818-858-3543.
